“Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.” ~Abraham Lincoln
What I’ve noticed over these past few busy but happy days is that my happiness is often directly proportional to my conciousness of it. This blog has proven to be a wonderful structure for me – a concrete way of reminding me of my commitment to my own happiness. Knowing that I am going to be logging my progress has me be very aware of what it is that making my day work well (and sometime not so well). Thus moments of beauty (a warm September-evening walk with a good friend last night, for instance) becomes even more delicious because my Happiness radar is so tuned-in now.
So it occurs to me that, perhaps paradoxically, happiness is to be found when we are on the look out for it.
